Our hands-on Medical Office Assistant training program curriculum combines lectures with practical exercises in computer laboratories.
College students are trained in a medical office simulated environment and learn how to use MediSoft procedures, medical record management, procedural codes for billing purposes, basic medical terminology, first aid and CPR.
After completing four (4) months, 400 hours of classroom training, college students will gain real world experience in a medical office, clinic, lab or hospital setting applying the skills learned in a variety of specialties. These additional 200 hours of training provides an opportunity for the college student to perform various administrative procedures under the supervision of qualified personnel.
Employment of medical secretaries and medical office assistants is projected to grow 16 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Aging baby boomers will require more medical services as they become eligible for Social Security and Medicare. As a result of these effects, medical secretaries and medical office assistants will be needed to handle administrative tasks related to billing and insurance processing.
